Martin's Story

Martin is a 16-year-old boy from rural Uganda. Like many children in this part of the world, he has to deal with abject poverty. We See Hope wanted to use Martin's story to tell a story of hope that resonates with donors. We jumped at the opportunity.

This project involved

  • Developing the script and concept - Working closely with the team at We See Hope we developed a personal and intimate story based on one of the benefactors of their charities support. We wanted to tell a human story, a story that resonates with the viewer.

  • Filming - As a self-shooting producer and director this meant filming as a team of one. This had the added benefit of reducing the impact community and allowed for a sensitive documentary filming method.

  • Editing and delivery - When editing we also wanted to capture in the paces the emotions of the story

We also produced 22 social media videos that We See Hope used on their social media channels. The idea with the videos was to capture little snippets of life in rural Uganda in order to help connect We See Hope's supporters with the people they are helping on the ground.
